2 nabbed in anti-drug stings

TWO persons were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as follows: Jammura Najae, 40; and Geriberto Fernando, 44.

Chang said Najae was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 9:33 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, at Phase 1 in Kasanyangan village, Zamboanga City.

She said recovered from Najae were some P4,750 worth of suspected shabu packed in 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money.

Chang said Fernando was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, in Tetuan village, Zamboanga City.

She said seized from Fernando were some two grams of suspected shabu worth P13,600, a cigarette box, and P200 marked money.

Chang said the suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
