FORTY-SIX troops of the Army’s 44th Infantry Battalion (44IB) have undergone last week a five-day disaster response training to equip its personnel the knowledge of emergency response.
The 44IB said in a statement the training started from July 27 until August 1, which was held at the command headquarters in Lower Baluran village, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay province.
The Disaster Response Operation Training cross-trained with Combat Life Saver Training was held in collaboration of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
The 44IB said the training was conducted in support to National Disaster Resilience Month, which aims to train Army troopers on how to efficiently respond and effectively perform disaster response and rescue operations in times of natural calamities and man-made disasters in the area of operation.
It said the training also aims to develop the troops confidence and competence as first responders.
The 44IB troops pledged its commitment to remain responsive to disaster response efforts to ensure the safety of local populace.
The 44IB vowed to remain disaster-ready and professional troopers, respected and supported by the people of Zamboanga Peninsula. (SunStar Zamboanga)
