Board Member Debulgado tests positive for Covid-19

PROVINCIAL Administrator Rayfrando Diaz confirmed Wednesday, August 4, that Negros Occidental First District Board Member Rommel Debulgado and a cameraman assigned at the Provincial Information Office (PIO) tested positive for Sars-CoV-2.

Diaz also said that Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson tested negative anew for the virus on Tuesday, August 3.

He said the governor was a close contact of Debulgado.

Debulgado's positive result came out on Monday, August 2. He started to experience symptoms of Covid-19 on July 29. He will be isolated at Mambukal Resort.

Diaz said the PIO was closed for disinfection Wednesday, August 4, and that the employees have been isolated and will undergo RT-PCR test five days after their exposure with the cameraman who tested positive for Covid-19.

The said cameraman was immediately sent to Mambukal Resort on Tuesday, August 3, for the mandatory quarantine.

The cameraman also covered an event attended by the governor in San Carlos City last July 30 but they were on different vehicles.

The two police officers who were with the cameraman in the same vehicle tested negative, Diaz said.
