No Covid-19 Delta variant in Bacolod

THE Department of Health (DOH)-Western Visayas has clarified that there is no Covid-19 Delta variant case in Bacolod City.

This, after Dr. Daphynie Teorima, spokesperson of DOH-Western Visayas, on Thursday, August 5, 2021, mentioned in a radio interview that there is a Covid-19 Delta variant case in Sitio Bacolod, which is in Iloilo Province.

She said there was only a mix on their record where the presence of Delta variant was counted in the Province of Iloilo and not in Bacolod City.

Dr. Edwin Miraflor, officer-in-charge of Bacolod City Health Office (CHO), also said that there is no Covid-19 Delta variant case in the city, but they recorded Covid-19 Alpha, Beta, and Theta or P.3 variants in Bacolod.

As of August 4, Bacolod City had a total of 15,495 Covid-19 cases. Of the number, 14,310 patients already recovered, 819 active cases with 363 deaths.

On the same day, Bacolod City had a total of 32 new cases with zero death.
