MCWD Family Park to feature camping site, water park

THE 16-hectare Talamban Family Park will soon be converted into the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) Family Park which will have a camping site and a water park.

Lawyer Joey Daluz III, MCWD board chairman told Sunstar Cebu that they have started negotiating with local developer Cebu Landmasters Inc. and hope to sign a memorandum of understanding soon.

He said the proposed converted park will provide entertainment to people since Cebu City has no camping site or a designated area for outdoor activities.

Daluz said he called the firms connected with MCWD to develop the other properties as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR). MCWD and the firms will share the proceeds from the developed properties.

“When you go to the family park, there’s nothing to see. MCWD spends a lot on the maintenance of the swimming pool and everything there, but it’s not related to water,” Daluz said.

He said as of the moment, they are waiting for the Cebu Landmasters to submit its designs and structures to the MCWD technical team for the development of the property. (MVE)
