THE Department of Health (DOH)-Central Luzon reported the highest single-day tally of new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the region since May 1 this year on Wednesday, August 11.
Data released by DOH-Central Luzon on Wednesday evening showed that 1,459 new confirmed Covid-19 cases were reported on the day alone.
From May 1 to August 4, the number of new Covid-19 cases reported daily in the region barely reached 1,000-mark, and even went as low as 251 cases on June 22.
From Wednesday's new cases, Bulacan logged the highest share with 467 cases, followed by Pampanga (including Angeles City) with 423, and Bataan with 317.
Nueva Ecija province also posted 116 new cases, while Zambales had 71 new cases, Tarlac with 61 and Aurora with 4.
The numbers brought the total confirmed cases in the region as of August 11 to 154,984, in which 10,039 were active, 141,099 were recoveries, and 3,845 were mortalities.
