Over P53,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P53,720 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug bust operations of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City on Wednesday, August 12, 2021.

The operation also led to the arrest of Mitchjy Del Rosario, 35, of Purok San Antonio, Phase-6B, Barangay Handumanan; and Patrick Lacson alias Wilfredo, 43, of Sto. Rosario, Zone 1, Barangay Bata.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said Del Rosario was arrested by operatives of Police Station 10 after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover in Bangga Totong II, Barangay Felisa around 11:45 p.m.

Police recovered from Del Rosario’s possession five sachets of shabu weighing 0.60 grams with estimated market value of P4,080, the P500 marked money and coin purse.

Lacson was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 in Sto. Rosario, Zone 1, Barangay Bata around 5:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Lacson’s possession three sachets of shabu weighing 7.3 grams with estimated market value of P49, 640, and the P500 marked money.

Gabana said the suspects were identified as street-level individuals in Bacolod City. They were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of Police Stations 3 and 10.

They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
