Kapampangan artists hold exhibit at SM City Clark

MORE than 30 Kapampangan artists have come together to hold an exhibit that aims to promote and sustain local craft amidst the ongoing pandemic.

The "Pamitipun King Pamanyulung Ning Kalalangan at Kabiasnan Kapampangan Exhibit" features the works of visual artists from Angeles City, Mabalacat City, and Porac town.

The exhibit was launched in coordination with the Angeles City Government on August 14 through SM City Clark's Art Space, in front of Terranova.

The ribbon-cutting ceremonies during the launching were led by Angeles City Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, Councilor Raco Del Rosario, SM City Clark Assistant Mall Manager Alan Dale Parungao, and artists Norman Tiotuico and Ana Algabre Hernandez.

Also present during the launching were Porac Mayor Jaime "Jing" Capil's Private Secretary Robert Canlas, and Porac Tourism Officer-in-Charge Gem Marimla.

According to Councilor Raco Del Rosario, the exhibit aims to promote the works of local artists, while at the same time help them sustain their craft amidst the pandemic.

"We're hoping that this is just the first project in promoting Kapampangan arts, aside from our food and tourist spots. We're hoping we will be known for our arts and soul, as well," said Del Rosario, who is also the Committee Chairman on Tourism, Culture, and Arts of the Angeles City Council.

Participating artists have thanked Del Rosario for his efforts in helping them promote their craft.
