ILOILO City is one of the pilot local government units (LGUs) of the National Resilience Council (NRC) in mapping out its vaccination rollout to point out gray areas in villages for prioritization against Covid-19.

Mayor Jerry Treñas said the City Vaccination Team will look into the interpreted data to put in place adjustments in terms of priorities.

“Barangays with high cases but with low vaccination rate will be given priority to have more vaccines. We will then see the case turnout in vaccinated areas,” Treñas said.

The top 10 barangays are Bakhaw, Mandurriao; Magsaysay Village, La Paz; Buhang Taft North, Navais, Dungon C, and Pali Benedicto all in Mandurriao; Loboc, Lapuz; San Pedro, Jaro; Lopez Jaena Norte, La Paz; and Tacas, Jaro.

City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office head Donna Magno noted that NRC worked with Epimetrics on its Web-based Geospatial Risk Database (GRiD) System for Covid-19.

This is being done with the help of an expert, Dr. John Q. Wong, who is also an adviser to the National Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

In the case of Iloilo City, NRC facilitated the coaching and discussions on vaccination strategy to prevent Covid-19 deaths.

They provided technical support to preliminary dashboards and proposed work plan for the full development of Web-GRiD for Covid-19 Pandemic Response and Recovery.

Part of Epimetric's assistance is to provide technical support through coaching on the current challenges faced by LGUs. (PR)
