Capitol asked to intervene on San Simon's political situation

THE political tension in San Simon town continues to heat up and is now affecting the quality of public service delivered to Simonians, according to Councilor Romanoel Santos.

Santos, who is among the local officials serving six months suspension, expressed concern over the possible effects of the continuous clash between the elected leaders to their municipality.

Santos cited as an example the dismantling of the San Simon isolation facility amid the growing threat of various variants of Covid-19 which causes surge on cases.

"Mali po ang timing at sa pagkakaalam ko, ginawa ito ng walang abiso man lang sa DILG (Department of Interior and Local Government) at sa national IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force) na siyang nagbigay mandato na gawing isolation facility iyong building," he said.

He added that the continuous mudslinging between local officials is already hurting the reputation of their town.

He asked Governor Dennis Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia Pineda to intervene and ease the political tension for the benefit of the municipality and its people.

Sana po matulungan niyo kami," Santos said.

He also urged fellow government officials to avoid resorting to mudslinging and instead unite for the common goal of serving Simonians.
