Just when people are advised to stay home due to the pandemic, GMA Synergy comes up with a unique concept of a show that makes staying at home far from being dull and boring.

Asia’s pop diva Julie Anne San Jose is set to unveil her talents as a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and multi-instrumentalist with the musical journey “Limitless: A Musical Trilogy.”

“It’s timely and fitting for Julie Anne to be the ‘Limitless’ star,” said GMA Regional TV and Synergy First vice president and head Oliver Victor Amoroso. The show will present Julie Anne virtually to audiences in the three island groups of the country: Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.

Julie Anne herself declared that “there’s more to life in this pandemic.”

“It’s my first time that I will be seen as myself, and also share my talent and my experience to my fans here and abroad. This is something I am truly excited for. I am grateful to GMA Network and GMA Synergy for trusting me with this one-of-a-kind endeavor.”

She said she felt the need to cope with the things happening right now. She feels “the need to breathe,” adding that while shooting the first episode in Cotabato and other parts of Mindanao, the sight of the breathtaking mountains and trees and feeling the warmth of the people was refreshing.

Incidentally, the three episodes of the show are entitled “Breathe,” “Heal” and “Rise.” The multi-faceted star further described the experience as “food for the soul.”

While hesitant at first to divulge details of the show, Julie Anne later revealed that she will sing some of her original songs which are mostly her own compositions. The first part, “Breathe” that is, will premiere on Sept. 17.

Julie Anne considers Regine Velasquez, Donna Cruz, Gary Valenciano and Lea Salonga as her musical inspirations and influences while growing up. However, it was her grandmother who really encouraged her to sing.

“I’m an old soul,” justifying her love for old songs like those of The Beatles especially “Yesterday,” though she also loves Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” Hale’s “Kung Wala Ka,” and her own “Free” and “Regrets” which she describes as “very personal.”

Having graduated from college and receiving a Diamond Award are her greatest accomplishments. She looks forward to working with Dennis Trillo, Dingdong Dantes and other GMA artists.

Having been seen on the show’s trailer wiping her eye, Julie Anne revealed having been overwhelmed by the sights and the happiness of the people she met despite the pandemic. It was then that she “missed the interaction of a live audience.”

As to the possibility of bringing the show abroad, Amoroso revealed that it had been discussed early with the possibility of starting in San Francisco, USA when the situation allows.

“Limitless: A Musical Trilogy” is Julie Anne’s journey as an artist. For the Sept. 17 leg, Julie Anne will be joined by Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista and The Clash alumnus Jong Madaliday, who is from Mindanao himself.

“Limitless: A Musical Trilogy” is under the creative direction of Paolo Valenciano with Myke Salomon as musical director and JC Gellidon as director of photography. For concert-lovers in the Philippines or around the globe, tickets are available at www.GMANetwork.com/synergy. Steps on how to score tickets of choice are available on the website.
