Goho: Skepticism over blind belief

Goho: Skepticism over blind belief

THERE is sound reason to be apprehensive regarding mass and mandated vaccination.

These discussions and investigations will be beneficial in the long run for everyone's general well-being.

While there are some who are quick to label vaccine-hesitant individuals as anti-vaxxers, these are genuine and valid concerns that are quickly downplayed. Somehow people are mislabeled as irresponsible citizens and much friction arises from such opposing strongholds. These false narratives must come to an end. There should instead be an open and agenda-free discourse that needs to take place that trumps over political and one-sided motives. Opposing and extreme voices of misinformation with no evidential backing from any side must be prevented.

There is no doubt that if vaccines are proven to be safe and effective, the majority would be eager to take them if this is truly the solution to ending this crisis. But somehow, that seems a bit farfetched and baseless at this point in time. The current vaccines lack any long-term effects.

We can simply hope for big government and big pharma to have our best interests at heart, but somehow we can intuitively sense how that may still be far from being a reality. There is a need for more honesty in facing every uncertainty should we ever bounce back, even the simplest matters should not be swept under the rug. It is allowable to admit fault, instead of standing one's ground on something gravely wrong.

Many vaccine injuries have taken place worldwide and these are grossly downplayed underreported. Unnecessary deaths could have been prevented and there is no transparency on the actual data. Deaths from the virus are magnified, while deaths from the vaccine are widely misrepresented. We must confront both virus deaths and vaccine-related deaths with equal importance.

Skepticism will always be better than blind belief. Faith should be based on something objective and intelligible. As thinking and conscious beings, we cannot be foolish guinea pigs that eagerly jump on the bandwagon just because it is what general and popular narrative dictates.

We have every right to question and demand data. We have every right to utilize our freedom and civil liberties to make the appropriate decisions and actions. There are more intelligent means of addressing this crisis that doesn't precipitate bizarre and devastating outcomes. Each individual has every right to discern for themselves without force.
