‘Shabu’ recovered inside jail

AUTHORITIES recovered substance believed to be shabu inside a cell at the Northern Samar Provincial Jail in Bobon, Northern Samar during a surprise inspection Monday evening, August 16, 2021.

Operating units of Bobon Municipal Police Station, together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and 1st Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company, seized the illegal drugs under the biscuit container placed on the bed of one of the inmates.

The substance believed to be shabu was recovered in a package coming from a certain individual who is residing in Baseco Port Area in Manila, police said in the report.

During the extensive search, the operating unit recovered five sachets believed to be containing shabu.

Lieutenant Neil Fernandez, officer-in-charge of Bobon Municipal Police Station, also conducted an on-scene inspection during the joint search operation.

The confiscated items were brought to the police station for documentation and proper disposition. (SunStar Philippines)
