5 pet-friendly restaurants in Cebu City

TO QUOTE Lilo from the Disney classic “Lilo and Stitch,” “Ohana means family and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”

For many, dining out is a way to unwind after a long day. It’s a way to spend some quality time with great company, including our furry companions. With those eyes, how can you leave these guys at home?

Here are five restaurants in the city where your fur babies are “paw-sitively” welcome!

The Food Yard at IL Corso

Address: IL Corso Cebu, South Road Properties, Cebu South Coastal Road

With its diverse food offerings and spacious area, this seaside al fresco food market has become a hit among Cebuanos looking for a food trip. There’s plenty of open space for pets to walk on while you’re going around the stalls. Get a bowl of tonkotsu ramen from Hakata Ramenba or maybe some barbecue from Smiley Larsian By The Sea, and then wash it all down with milk tea from BubbleZ.

Acacia Steakhouse

Address: Green Valley Subdivision, Acacia Street, Capitol Hills

No need to leave the fur babies at home for steak night. The restaurant’s patio area is especially lovely on a clear evening. Earlier this year, Acacia introduced a slightly tweaked menu that includes a glorious patty melt sandwich, which is a definite must-try. Now, how about sharing a teeny tiny piece of juicy steak with your little one?

AYO AYO Cafe & Sauna

Address: 44 Emilio Osmeña Street, Guadalupe

Whether it’s a session at the sauna or just a quick bite at the cafe, this is the place to go to for a quiet, laidback afternoon. Partake of some delicious Japanese food, including Italian-inspired iterations of the chewy udon noodles, as well as the cafe’s specialty gyozas. While you’re there, have your fur babies meet Given, Ayo Ayo’s resident golden retriever and muse.

The Neighborhood Cafe

Address: J. Fortich Street, Banawa

This quaint and cozy cafe is all about comfort, from the food down to overall vibe. They’ve got rice bowls, pasta, pizza, fluffy souffle pancakes and a really good cold brew, which comes in several flavors. Capacity in the main cafe is a little limited, but there’s outdoor seating as well.

Did we mention that you can have your fur baby’s birthday party here too?

Cooee Tribe

Address: Antara Residences, Lawaan, Talisay City

Although not technically in Cebu City anymore, this all-day brunch place down south is worth the detour.

Located in a quiet residential community, Cooee Tribe is a quick escape from the city noise. There are plenty of healthy options on the menu to try, from poke pockets to smoothie bowls, and refreshing beverages to pair. Your pups will love the chill vibe here.

While dining-in options may not be available due to Covid-19, just keep an eye out for these locations especially when the province heads back to better times.
