Maine Mendoza defends boyfriend

ARJO Atayde's camp breaks silence on alleged breach of protocol of movie production in Baguio City. Arjo's group is currently shooting "Hey, Joe" for two months now in the City of Pines. Arjo is the son of veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez and businessman Art Atayde.

On August 17, 2021, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong announced that the actor left the city despite knowing that he is positive of Covid-19. The mayor also added that he has informed Arjo not to leave Baguio without his Covid-19 test result, but the former learned that the actor has left the city on August 16.

On Wednesday, August 18, Feelmaking Productions Inc., a film outfit owned by Arjo, issued its official statement which was signed by its production head Ms. Ellen Criste.

An excerpt from the official statement:

"Arjo Atayde tested positive for Covid-19 as shooting for his new film culminated in Baguio last August 16. Arjo was suffering from high fever, headaches, and difficulty in breathing. It was the mutual decision of Feelmaking Productions Inc., Arjo's parents, and doctors to rush the actor, who has a pre-existing medical condition, straight to a hospital in Manila on August 17. We have provided assistance for nine others who tested positive for Covid-19 but are asymptomatic and are currently in quarantine. We have likewise coordinated with the local officials for the necessary safety protocols."

Speaking of Arjo, there has been news circulating that Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza, Arjo's girlfriend, is tolerating the actor regarding the issue of breach of protocol.

A netizen posted in the comment section of Maine's social media account. The host/actress vehemently denied the accusation.

She replied back and posted:

"I am not 'tolerating' him but there’s just so much you do not know about the story,” Maine defended herself. “And I hope he gets the chance to tell his side and the context of what had happened these past few days. I also hope you do not base your judgments solely on what you see online because you might just be seeing an angle of the real scenario.”
