ANGELES CITY -- The Angeles local government unit (LGU) under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is set to inoculate 14,503 residents in Barangays Sapangbato and Margot with the fielding of the second mobile vaccination clinic on August 25 under the “Ronda Bakuna” program.

The mobile vaccination in the two barangays will accommodate 7,003 residents in Sapangbato and 7,500 in Margot, according to Lazatin's Chief Adviser IC Calaguas.

Calaguas, also the chief implementer of the city government's vaccination program, said the route for the two deployed mobile bus clinics will meet halfway. One bus would ply north and south, while the other one would cover east and west.

"North, south, east, west na ang approach natin hanggang mag-salubong-salubong na ang barangay," Calaguas explained.

For his part, Lazatin said, "Target na po nating mabakunahan ang buong populasyon ng siyudad sa pamamagitan ng pagbaba natin ng mga bakuna sa mga barangays.”

"Tayo na po ang pupunta at aabot sa mga kababayan nating nasa malalayong lugar para hindi na nila kailangang pumunta pa sa mga vaccination areas,” he said.

The second mobile vaccination clinic will have complete medical equipment for the safe transport of the vaccines and another vaccination team from the members of Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center, City Health Office, Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Gender and Development Office, City Nutrition Office and Business Permit and Licensing Division.

To date, 3,784 residents in three barangays were already vaccinated via the Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay: 996 in Barangay Virgen Delos Remedios; 1,155 in Agapito Del Rosario; and 2,386 in San Jose. Apart from this, the “Sundo Bakuna” sa Barangay is also fetching families from barangays to the City College of Angeles by schedule.

Six Philippine Rabbit buses and 10 jeepneys were also deployed under the Sundo Bakuna program. Residents from Barangays Cutud, Pulung Cacutud, and Pampang are some of the households who already benefitted from Sundo Bakuna.

As of Friday, 126,304 Angeleños already received their first dose of vaccines while 73,384 are already fully vaccinated. The on-site vaccination areas in CCA and Angeles City National High School are only available for senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant women.

The house-to-house vaccination started last July and August, respectively, inoculating bedridden elderly and 200 PWDs confined to their beds. (Angeles City Information Office)
