THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cebu is calling on youth entrepreneurs involved in priority and essential businesses to avail themselves of a free business mentorship program.

DTI Cebu Director Rose Mae Quiñanola said the preferred beneficiaries are those engaged in health and wellness products, processed foods, wearables and homestyles, agri-based processing, medicines and vitamins, coffee or cacao, the manufacture of personal protective equipment, and essential products and/or services.

They will undergo a free intensive business mentorship program under the Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME)–Money Market Encounter (MME).

“Through the KMME-MME Online, we would like to empower our young entrepreneurs in order to become not only regular entrepreneurs but competitive and smarter entrepreneurs who will lead in improving our economy and building back our nation,” Quiñanola said in a statement.

DTI Cebu can accommodate 14 participants from Cebu and a total of 48 participants in Central Visayas.

Applicants must be 18 to 30 years old, Filipino and a resident of Cebu, the owner or co-owner of and/or partner of the business and whose business is registered among other requirements.

KMME-MME Online will feature mentorship modules to be used to propel MSMEs to survive and thrive in spite of the unprecedented setbacks that now confront businesses of all types and sizes.

“The program sets out to produce confident entrepreneurs with the right mindset and basic management skills which will enable them to sustain their enterprises amid the challenges of the pandemic and new normal conditions,” DTI Cebu said.
