Bacolod police probe slay of barber

THE Bacolod City Police Station 7 is still conducting a thorough investigation to identify the perpetrators behind the killing of a barber near a church in Barangay Mansilingan on August 20, 2021.

Police identified the victim as Tenot Bantigue, of Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan.

Police Captain Elmer Bonilla, chief of Police Station 7, said they are still gathering pieces of evidence to determine the identity of the suspect in the killing of Bantigue around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Investigation showed the victim was walking near a church when an unidentified assailant on board a motorcycle fired at him using an unidentified firearm.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound on his head. He was brought to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, but he did not survive.

The police said the victim was a former detainee for violation of illegal drugs and was released through plea bargaining.

Meanwhile, a businessman was also injured after he was shot at Libertad Public Market, Barangay 40, Bacolod City Saturday.

Police identified the victim as Rey Bebillo Sr. of Barangay Taculing.

Police said the victim was inside his store when an unidentified assailant on board a motorcycle fired at him and fled around 4 p.m.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound on his chin. He was brought to the Bacolod Adventist Medical center.

Police Station 6 is still conducting a thorough investigation to identify the perpetrator.
