For the past 17 months, the entire country has been besieged by uncertainty and fear brought about by the deadly Covid-19 virus, most recently the Delta variant. This variant, according to studies made by the UP-Philippine Genome Center, is surpassing all other variants of concern, with nearly two million Covid infections to date.

Fear not! The first nationwide Medical Mission in the Philippines, is National mWellness Day, arriving on Aug. 28 and 29.

The first fully integrated health and wellness mobile app, mWell, heralds another radical move to provide healthcare access to millions of Filipinos, especially at this time of heightened health restrictions.

In an unprecedented first in tele-health consultation, patients anywhere in the country-Luzon’s outlying regions: Ilocos, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), as well as hard-to-reach islands in the Visayas, Mindanao’s southernmost Soccsksargen etc., will have quality free doctor consultation. The mWell app, by Metro Pacific Health Tech, gives users the added sense of security and medical support with this latest innovation.

On Aug. 28 and 29, all mWell app users and patients can avail of free online and tele-consultations from a roster of primary care and specialty doctors nationwide.

Booking and doctor’s fees are waived for this event.

National mWellness Day gives Filipinos the opportunity to access much-needed health professionals from the comfort and safety of their homes. As Dr. Angela Fernando-Villasenor, pediatrician, said: “To help our fellow Filipinos, I will volunteer at the National mWellness Day, to also assist my fellow frontliners in keeping one patient less from the hospital. I invite my fellow frontliners to join me in this worthy endeavor.”

Kara David, healthcare advocate and founder of Project Malasakit, will be hosting the Facebook Live discussion about National mWellness Day on Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. on the mWell Facebook page. Subject will be on how mWellness brings healthcare closer to Filipinos.

Calling all doctors and clinics nationwide, you’re most welcome to be part of National mWellness Day to reach more patients, and provide them with convenient and responsive medical care, even beyond the pandemic.

Health technology platform mWell is developed by the Metro Pacific Health Tech Corp., and offers telemedicine, e-pharmacy, health and wellness programs, and e-commerce, among them. It transforms the country’s digital health landscape by providing professional consultations, medical diagnosis, care and treatment plans, as well as personalized fitness, nutrition and wellness schedules.
