2,000 nabbed in a day in Central Luzon for quarantine violations

NEARLY 2,000 individuals in Central Luzon were arrested in a single day for violating protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force Against Covid-19.

Police Regional Office (PRO) Central Luzon Chief Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon said a total of 1,744 violators were arrested regionwide on Tuesday, August 25, 2021 alone.

Of this number, he disclosed that 1,166 were caught for the improper wearing and non-wearing of face masks, 455 were caught for the improper wearing and not wearing of face shield, and 123 were warned for violation of social distancing.

Also, 245 persons were denied entry in the region due to stern implementation of health restrictions as part of IATF guideline, De Leon furthered.

De Leon reminded the public anew to observe all protocols as they are set to prevent the spread of virus in the community.

"We continuously appeal to the public for understanding and adherence to the IATF restrictions as we continue to be very strict in its implementation," he said.
