Vaccination goes to Iloilo villages

ILOILO City Government Vaccination Teams will go to the barangays starting Monday, August 30, and will conduct vaccination for the whole week.

There will be no walk-in on Thursday next week, September 2, because of the full schedule.

“We cannot continue with the open vaccinations in the meantime since our vaccinators will go to nine barangays every day with a target of 7,200 daily. All persons will be given second doses at the scheduled time. With the increasing cases due to the Delta variant, we have been requested by our barangay officials to go to the barangays so that we achieve herd immunity at the earliest possible time,” Mayor Jerry Treñas said.

The mayor will issue an amended executive order to include Thursday in placing border control in city boundaries.

Treñas expressed gratitude to those who support the successful smooth-sailing process in vaccination rollout.

"Thank you very much to vax site managers, barangay captains and officials, vaccinators, City Health Office, PSTMO (Public Safety and Transportation Management Office), GSO (General Services Office), PNP (Philippine National Police), our IT team, volunteers, and everybody helping out -- you are all doing a great job for the Ilonggos! Thank you to all the schools and malls allowing us to use their facilities for free," Treñas said.

"I am requesting everyone who can be vaccinated to please get protection for yourself and your family," he said. (PR)
