ABS-CBN will start hunting on September 1 for new housemates for the country’s most popular house -- Pinoy Big Brother as it gears up for another season dubbed as “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Kumunity Season 10.”

A week after the big announcement on the comeback of the popular reality show, the network said auditions for the Adult Edition will officially open on September 1 to 30 via the Filipino community platform Kumu. The upcoming tenth regular season of “PBB” will also feature Celebrity and Teen Editions.

PBB creative head Marcus Vinuya said in a virtual media conference held on Monday, August 30 that the new season will feature three batches of housemates. A twist can also be expected at the later part of the season.

“For this season it will be three ‘kumunities’ of housemates living in the PBB house one after the other. We wanted to give viewers something new. Matagal na rin kasi na wala tayong celebrity housemates na group. The last one was Lucky Season 7 pa. Ngayon sila ‘yung magsisimula ng season then followed by adults and teens then sa dulo may mangyayaring twist na dapat abangan,” he said.

He added that social media personalities and viral sensation can be considered in the celebrity edition as the term “celebrity” has been expanded and diversified following the influence brought by the new medium.

Also present in the event were ABS-CBN entertainment production head and Star Magic head Lauren Dyogi and hosts Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzalez, and Robi Domingo, who expressed excitement for the return of the program.

“Doing ‘PBB’ is like a part of our lives already, nina Bianca and Robi. This is our second home. And it’s always a big blessing when we are given an opportunity to the another season para sa ating mga Kapamilya,” said Toni, who has been a part of “PBB” since it started in 2005.

Bianca, who was part of “PBB Celebrity Edition 1, shared they have been praying for another season of PBB even after the big night of the most recent edition - PBB Connect.

“Nakakaexcite. Di naman namin akalain na agad-agad kasi nga pandemya, ang dami pinagdadaanan ng kompanya,” she said adding that the entire “PBB” family is grateful to be together again to bring light and joy to viewers during this pandemic.

Robi, who was a runner-up of “PBB Teen Edition Plus” and now one of the most in demand hosts and respected youth advocates in the country, is forever grateful to the reality show as it opened doors of opportunities for him and his fellow alumni.

“Just like the theme, ‘yung pangarap pwedeng magkatotoo. Saktong-sakto a few months after the Big Night eto na we’re gonna have the auditions for the tenth season of PBB,” she said.

Meanwhile, Lauren promised to the viewers that they have prepared a lot for this new season to showcase the best Filipinos.

“Every season is a new experience, we try to refresh it, iba yung dynamics dahil din sa mix of housemates kaya critical sa amin ang casting for the element of the show, whatever we’ll do will not succeed if we fail in casting. We have relatable housemates, exceptional hosts. It is not just a simple entertainment program meron aral na makukuha ang manonood,” he said.

He added that every time he sees a former housemate doing better with their lives, showbiz or non-showbiz, it gives him and the team motivation and the drive to continue with PBB.

To audition for “PBB Kumunity Season 10,” hopefuls just need to download the Kumu app, create an account, and upload a 1-minute Kumu clip where he or she will introduce oneself and say why he or she is deserving to become a housemate, and use the hashtag “PBBKumuAdults.”

Auditions for Adult Edition for those who are 20 to 40 years old will be until September 30, while auditions for the Teen Edition, for those 15 to 19 years old, will begin on December 1 to December 31 and will use the hashtag “PBBKumuTeens.” (With PR)
