A HEADLESS body of an unidentified man was dumped along Rosario Street, Barangay 38, Bacolod City, and a severed head was also found in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, in the city Tuesday evening, August 31, 2021.

Police Major Ramel Sarona, chief of Police Station 1, said Tuesday the headless body was still unidentified while the severed head was identified as Gleen Paul Castillo, 42, of Deca Homes Subdivision, Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City.

He said Castillo was identified by his sister, who was abroad, through the pictures posted on social media.

On August, 21, Castillo along with his live-in partner was arrested in a drug bust conducted by City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in Barangay Cabug.

Sarona said Castillo was charged for violation of Sections 11 and 12 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and he was released on August 27 after he posted his bail amounting to P200,000 for his temporary liberty.

He said they could not yet confirm if the headless body belongs to Castillo.

Investigation showed that around 9:15 p.m., two sports utility vehicles (SUVs) boarded with about eight unidentified armed men, were seen along Rosario Street, an area where Police Staff Sergeant Joseph Nepomuceno Jr. was killed on Sunday, dumping the headless body of a man.

Sarona said the victim, who was wearing checkered shorts and a gray t-shirt, was found with several stab wounds. He was handcuffed and a placard was seen in the area with words "Bayad sa utang, interest pa lang, preparar ang capital sa suma total, halong Bacolod."

After dumping the body of the victim, he said the suspects fired their firearms and fled.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime six empty shells of .45 caliber.

After 25 minutes, Sarona said the severed head of Castillo, which was placed inside a plastic, was also found along Purok Sigay.

He said an unidentified man who was onboard a vehicle was seen throwing the severed head on the road.

The police are eyeing illegal drugs as a possible motive in the killing of Castillo.

Sarona said they could not yet confirm if the incident has something to do with the killing of Nepomuceno, who was assigned at the CDEU.

He said they will check security cameras in the area to identify the suspects and they already requested an autopsy on the victim’s body.

He added they are still conducting a thorough investigation to identify the headless body of a man and the perpetrators.
