CEBU bets Beatrice Luigi Gomez and Steffi Rose Aberasturi are among the top 30 finalists in the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 competition.

The top 30 bested 70 other delegates in a series of virtual challenges, pageant organizers announced this afternoon.

One of these lucky ladies will win the crown on Finals Night on September 25, 2021.

But first, they’ll have to show what they’re made of during the September 21, 2021 Preliminary Q&A, and September 23, 2021 Preliminary Swimsuit & Evening Gown Competition.

The Cebuanas are no strangers to beauty contests.

Gomez, representing San Fernando town, was crowned Binibining Cebu 2020 in January 2020, during which she shared that she had a girlfriend.

Aberasturi, who wowed netizens with her memorable walk on the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway for the Miss Universe Philippines Runway Challenge, was Binibining Cebu 2018.

The two are strong contenders.

Gomez, now representing Cebu City, topped the “Introduction Challenge,” while Aberasturi, representing Cebu Province, topped the “Runway Challenge.”

Among others, they’ll be up against Mandaluyong’s Maria Corazon Abalos, who won the “Headshot Challenge”; Cavite’s Victoria Velasquez Vincent, who won the “Interview Challenge”; and Pangasinan’s Maureen Christa Wroblewitz, who won the “Casting Challenge.”

Wroblewitz is a formidable opponent, as she was Asia’s Next Top Model 2017. (CTL)
