THE Cebu-based LH Paragon Group, through its philanthropic arm, LH Foundation Inc. and Golden ABC Inc. (Penshoppe), one of the Philippines’ largest fashion retailers, has continued to push the group’s advocacy to encourage nationwide vaccination and promote herd immunity with its donation Friday, September 3, of AstraZeneca vaccines to local government units (LGUs) in Metro Cebu.

The group has so far turned over 5,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines that were recently acquired through the Tripartite Agreement between the National Government, GoNegosyo and AstraZeneca.

Golden ABC Inc. (Penshoppe) was among the first batch of private companies in the country to participate in the tripartite agreement.

These 5,000 doses were distributed accordingly at 1,000 doses each among the three highly urbanized cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu, another 1,000 doses for Cebu Province, and 500 doses each for Talisay City and the Municipality of Consolacion.

Through this donation, LH Foundation Inc. and Golden ABC Inc. aim to augment and support the LGUs’ ongoing vaccination efforts to help restore livelihoods among fellow Cebuanos, one dose at a time.

Present at the turnover were Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Christina Giango for the Province of Cebu; Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes with City Health Officers Dr. Dominga Obenza, Dr. Debra Catulong, Dr. Ligaya Dargantes and lawyer Ebenezer Daryl Manzano from the Mandaue Vaccine Operations Center; Mayor Joannes Alegado, MD with Municipal Health Officers Dr. Fe Eleanor Pardillo and Dr. Maj Balbutin of the Municipality of Consolacion; Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas and LH Foundation Inc.’s Head of Legal and Compliance lawyer Karen Gaviola-Climaco and Head of Corporate Communications Frances Alfafara, in behalf of the LH Paragon Group and Golden ABC Inc. (Penshoppe).

The vaccine donation turnover will continue in the cities of Cebu and Lapu-Lapu.

The LH Paragon Group of Companies has holdings in various businesses in the Philippines engaged in different industries, including fashion retailing, wood distribution, real estate development, food retailing, graphics printing, automotive distribution and medical services.

With the steady allocation of vaccines from the National Government and continuing support from private sector partners, the Metro Cebu LGUs have significantly increased overall vaccination capacity, having breached the 1,000,000th dose administered last August 2021 and having vaccinated 44 percent of their total eligible population with at least one dose as of September 1, 2021.
