Alaska, SMB Saturday face off postponed

THE Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) announced that the face off between the Alaska Aces and San Miguel Beermen supposedly scheduled for September 4 at 4:35 pm at the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga has been postponed to a later date following league guidelines.

The postponement is in accordance with the PBA's health and safety protocols, the league said in its official webpage said.

The Beermen and the Aces are eyeing to get back on track in their second outing in the PBA Philippine Cup.

Both squads lost their opening matches in the Bacolor, Pampanga journey of the Season 46 reboot with the Beermen falling to a 104-110 overtime upset by the Terrafirma Dyip Wednesday, September 1, 2021, and the Aces toppled by the NLEX Road Warriors Thursday, September 2, 2021

Despite the loss, the Beermen remains on the upper half of the board with a 3-2 win-loss slate. The Aces are down the chart with a 2-4 card.

Meanwhile, the PBA said the clash between the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters and NLEX Road Warriors originally scheduled at 2:00pm will push through but moved to 4:35pm.

The Road Warriors are gunning for a third straight win and fourth in six games overall in the encounter while the Fuel Masters are looking for a second straight win and third in seven games.

NLEX takes to the floor again without Kiefer Ravena. But despite the absence of the Warriors' main man, NLEX slid past Alaska 84-74 last Thursday, veterans JR Quinahan, Kevin Alas and Jericho Cruz rising to the call.

Similarly, Phoenix is also coming off a big win, nipping Rain or Shine last Thursday after a cliff hanger 78-77 victory. (JTD)
