VICE President Leni Robredo on Monday, September 6, 2021 she only has three options for the upcoming 2022 national elections - seek the presidency, run for a local position or retire from politics.
Robredo said she is not open to running for a senatorial position.
"Tingin ko, hindi 'yun 'yung aking strength (I don't think that's my strength)," she said in a television interview.
Robredo said she was meeting with “small groups” that expressed support for her and was considering their insights.
"I still firmly believe that we need to talk beyond our usual circles. Yung paniniwala ko pa din is (I still believe that they way) to go into 2022 with a united front," she said.
Robredo answered in the affirmative when asked if she is open to supporting the possible tandem of Senator Emmanuel Pangilinan and Manila City Mayor Francisco Domagoso.
She added that she is open to anyone “who would put a stop to this kind of governance.”
Robredo earlier slammed the administration’s response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, saying she was tempted to ask for a blanket authority to lead projects and programs aimed at addressing the crisis. (SunStar Philippines)
