Big projects for PPop BGYO, BINI before year-end

Pinoy Pop (PPop) all-boy group BGYO and all-girl group BINI are set to mount a joint virtual concert series dubbed “One Dream: The BINI-BGYO Concert” on Nov. 6 and 7. The shows will be live streamed on KTX.PH, iWantTFC and TFC IPTV. These sites also serve as ticket outlets.

The two-night show will feature different repertoire. They will also feature backup dancers. There are numbers that the two groups will perform together, and a live band will accompany the two groups. There will be guest performers as well.

“One Dream: The Bini-BGYO Concert” serves as the culmination of the group’s three-year preparation. Both groups will come up with their respective albums and merchandise. Barring any problem in health restrictions, both groups are “invited to perform abroad before the year ends,” ABS-CBN TV production head Laurenti Dyogi announced during a virtual media conference last Aug. 31.

BGYO prides itself in being the first Filipino act to reach the number one spot and the fifth Filipino artist to land on the weekly Billboard Next Big Sound chart. It has released tracks “Feel Good Filipinas,” “He’s Into Her,” “The Light,” “While We Are Young” and its latest, “The Baddest.” The group is composed of members Akira, Gelo, JL, Nate and Mikki.

Meanwhile, BINI is composed of eight girls: Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna and Sheena. Its pre-debut “Da Coconut Nut” was released in late 2020.

Its debut single “Born To Win” is a maxi single which showcases the song’s bouncy electro-pop track. The video of the single was featured in MTV Asia.

Despite their hectic schedules, members of the two groups still manage to continue their studies.

BGYO’S Akira, who is taking Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management, became a dean’s lister.

Dyogi praised the two groups for being hardworking and disciplined. He further thanked the Aces and Blooms fan groups for the support. He likewise acknowledged the other PPop groups that came before BGYO and BINI for planting the seeds for PPop to be noticed.

Tickets for the concert are at P1,950 with access to the two-night shows plus a meet-and-greet opportunity with the groups after the second night, and P1,450 with access to the two-night shows only.
