Hazing death suspect nabbed in Mabalacat

A MURDER suspect, who attempted to secure a police clearance at the Mabalacat Police Station (MPS), was arrested by local police on Monday, September 6, 2021.

The suspect, Jeremiah Montoya, 22, of Barangay Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga, was allegedly involved in a 2015 fraternity hazing that resulted in the death of a 14-year-old out-of-school youth residing in Sitio South Daang Bakal also of the same village.

Montoya was tagged as most wanted person of the city, police said.

No bail was recommended for Montoya as reflected in the alias warrant of arrest issued by Judge April Joy B. Magsayo Aguila of the Regional Trial Court Branch 61 in Angeles City.

Lieutenant Colonel Soledad Elefanio, head of the city police, said Montoya was arrested while applying for a police clearance.

The police chief said municipal police office personnel, based on their records, then discovered that the suspect has a standing arrest warrant for his involvement in the hazing death case in 2015.
