No JLPT? Then take the JFT-Basic

UNFORTUNATELY, the JLPT has been cancelled in lieu of the Covid-19 pandemic. We believe/we understand that several people have been preparing for the JLPT. However, instead of the JLPT, it is possible to take the JFT-Basic.

The JFT-Basic uses computers to administer its tests. The test center also properly observes social distancing and other corona preventive measures. For more details on the test, you can check the test questions at the JFT-Basic webpage.

Sample questions

The JFT-Basic is held six times a year. Generally, registration begins on even-numbered months (Feb, April, June, and so forth) and the test begins on odd-numbered months (March, May, July, and so forth). For registration, those who register as a group or organization must register at least 15 days before their preferred test days; while those who register individually must register at least 3 days before their test. For more details, please check the JFT-Basic official website
