Most of Oro's Covid-related deaths are unvaccinated

MAJORITY or 91 percent of Covid-19 mortalities recorded in Cagayan de Oro City as of September 9, 2021, were unvaccinated individuals.

Based on the data from the City Health Office, Cagayan de Oro logged a total of 783 Covid-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic and 91 percent of them, or 713 individuals, have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 while nine percent, or 70 individuals, have been vaccinated.

Of the 70 vaccinated Covid deaths, 34 were given the Sinovac vaccine, 19 with AstraZeneca, 10 with Janssen, six with Sputnik V, and one with Pfizer.

As of September 9, Cagayan de Oro had a total of 326,967 vaccinated individuals, of which 213,611 received their first dose of the vaccine and 113,356 were fully vaccinated.

According to the data, of the 326,967 vaccinated residents, 248,405 were vaccinated at city-run vaccination sites and 78,562 were vaccinated at Cagayan de Oro hospitals.

Of the 248,405 individuals vaccinated at city-run vaccination sites, 27,398 were frontline healthcare workers, 52,835 were senior citizens, 74,188 were persons with comorbidities, 87,453 were essential frontline workers, 3,240 were from the A5 priority group and 3,291 were from the Filipino-Chinese community.
