Over P500,000 'shabu' seized in Bacolod

MORE than half-a-million peso worth of suspected shabu was seized by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in various areas in the city Thursday, September 9 and Friday, September 10, 2021.

The arrested suspects were identified as Kim Khubchand of Barangay 2, Kristine Faith Derla, 28, her sister Khim Rose, 24, both of Barangay 8; Joar Abdon, 28, of Barangay Vista Alegre; and Richard Consorte, whose address was not disclosed.

Khubchand was arrested by operatives of PDEA after he sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer along Luzuriaga Street, Barangay 12, Bacolod City Thursday afternoon.

Recovered from Khubchand’s possession were several packs of shabu weighing about 55 grams with estimated market value of P374,000, marked money and a motorcycle.

According to a PDEA agent, who requested anonymity, Khubchand is considered as a high-value target in Bacolod City.

Consorte was arrested by operatives of PDEA after he sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer at Bangga Escala, Barangay Estefania, around 9:30 p.m. Several sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams with estimated market value of P68,000 and the marked money.

Derla, her sister and Abdon were also arrested by operatives of PDEA and Police Station 2 in Barangay 4 around 12:30 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession three big plastic sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P102,000 and the marked money.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facilities of PDEA and Police Station 2. Police said they are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
