DA hosts Regional Management Committee meeting for agri program

THE Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DARFO)-Central Luzon led the Third Quarter Regional Management Committee (RMC) meeting on September 9, 2021, in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

The meeting was presided over by Regional Executive Director Crispulo Bautista Jr. in collaboration with the Regional Technical Director for Operations and Extensions Dr. Eduardo L. Lapuz Jr., which was also attended by affiliate agencies via zoom.

The meeting aims to discuss various projects, programs and activities of DA and partner agencies such as an update on seed component, mechanization, training component, golden rice, fertilizer price, African Swine Fever inspire project and swine repopulation, loans and youth agribiz competitive grant assistance.

It is expected that despite the pandemic faced by the department and the country, the launch of projects and programs for farmers and fishermen will continue.

The said RMC meeting was attended by Dr. Ronan G. Zagado, chief science research specialist of the Philippines Rice Institute (Philrice); Jhoemar Dela Cruz, regional coordinator of Philrice; Domingo R. Miranda, head of Luzon A Cluster of the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization; Mario A. Lapitan, officer-in-charge (OIC)-center director of the Agricultural Training Institute; Roel P. Valdez; technical head of the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority; Dr. Xandre D. Baccay, OIC-Chief of Regulatory Division of DARFO-Central Luzon; Elisa E. Mallari, Livestock Program coordinator of DARFO-Central Luzon; Rolando G. Santos, head of Landbank-PLC; and Fernando C. Lorenzo, Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service Division chief of DARFO-Central Luzon.
