THE P150 million bridge and road project in Sitio Langub, Barangay Guinacot connecting Barangay Poblacion going to Barangay Danasan has been completed, according to the Danao City Government.

The bridge and road project to support the tourism industry of Danao City was opened to the public on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 after a blessing ceremony led by Fr. Dennis Boltron, the city government announced on its Facebook page Sunday.

The project is a product of the “Access Road Leading to Tourism Destination” through the convergence project of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Tourism (DOT), former congressman Ramon “Red” Durano VI and the Department of Public Works and Highways, which implemented the project.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III, Vice Mayor Thomas Mark “Mix” Durano, city councilors and barangay officials, among others.

In 2016, then congressman Ramon “Red” Durano VI was approached by the DTI and the DOT to identify projects in the 5th District that could be included in the two government agencies’ budgets for that year.

The fifth district is composed of Danao City, and the towns of Borbon, Sogod, Catmon, Carmen, Compostela, Liloan and the four towns in the Camotes Islands—Pilar, Tudela, Poro and San Francisco.

Durano coordinated with the Danao City Government which, for tourism, decided on the road in Sitio Langub for road widening and the construction of a bridge.

The fifth district is now represented by Rep. Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco. (CTL)
