TWO suspected drug peddlers were arrested and more than P3.5 million worth of shabu were confiscated by authorities during two anti-illegal drugs operations in Pampanga on September 12.
Pampanga Police Director Arnold Ibay said that joint operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU)-Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO), Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) and Minalin SDEU conducted a buy-bust operation along MacArthur Highway, Barangay Sto. Domingo, Minalin town that resulted in the arrest of Jinky De Dios, 37, a high-value target, and Julie Ann Besa, 42, both residents of Barangay Sta. Trinidad, Angeles City.
Confiscated from the two suspects were 13 pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 515 grams and with an estimated value of P3,502,000.
Appropriate charges for violations of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied for filing in court against the suspects. (PR)
