Top cop assures dismissal of drug-peddling policeman

POLICE Regional Office-Central Luzon Director Valeriano De Leon has assured the dismissal of a police officer who was recently arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation launched in Tarlac City recently.

On Friday, September 10, Police Corporal Geymar Orquero and two other individuals were arrested for allegedly peddling illegal drugs.

Operational research also disclosed that Orquero had a previous relationship with a woman who was likewise arrested for illegal drugs in 2018.

He was also identified as illegal drug user, pusher, protector and financer of two known shabu peddlers operating in Gerona town and Tarlac City.

During his visit at the Gerona Police Station on Monday, September 13, De Leon said Orquero will be booted from the Philippine National Police and will be facing both administrative and criminal charges.

"Your actions were a complete betrayal of public trust and confidence. You should be ashamed not just with yourself but to your family. You have no place in the PNP and you will rot in jail," De Leon told Orqueto.

Meanwhile, the Central Luzon police chief also warned the personnel of Gerona Municipal Police Station to toe the line and never to engage in any illegal activities.

"May this serve as a stern warning to all who are still involved in illegal activities, we will never tolerate any wrongdoings and we will remove you from the service outright," he said.
