New Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro at 51

AFTER two weeks of recording more than a hundred coronavirus cases, Cagayan de Oro reported another double digit new local cases, which is at 51.

This brought the cumulative number of Covid-19 infections in the city to 18,613.

Of the 51 new confirmed cases, 33 were local index cases, 11 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, five local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and two Apors with link.

According to Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno, the decline in the number of daily cases is due to the public efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.

"Nganong gikanaog man? Ang rason gyud ana gabantay na ang mga tao. Di na sila patakod," Moreno said.

"Kalooy sa Diyos nag improve ang atong sitwasyon pero di ta kompyansa," he added.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 3,843 active cases, 939 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 2,889 were outpatients, and 15 ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 100 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 13,975.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city reached 795.

Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinated individuals who tested positive for coronavirus in Cagayan de Oro is now at 4,300.

Of the 4,300 vaccinees, 2,681 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine; 816 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca; 282 with Pfizer; 256 with Sputnik V; 248 with Janssen; five with Sinopharm; 12 with Moderna.
