BOTH the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) and the Riverside Medical Center Inc. (RMC) in Bacolod City are temporarily not accepting patients infected with coronavirus effective September 14.

The CLMMRH management, in a statement, admitted that for the first time in the last 18 months of addressing Covid-19 pandemic, the government-run hospital is highly challenged with the current surge of cases.

The CLMMRH added that it is also temporarily suspending admission even of the non-Covid patients until further notice.

The public is advised to look for alternative hospitals in the province for patient care management, considering that the CLMMRH’s emergency room and all its wards have reached maximum capacities.

Those with inquiries regarding hospital admission and for proper patient transfer coordination may contact CLMMRH hotlines 703-1350, 701-7865 and 0917-100-7093.

Like CLMMRH, the RMC also announced Tuesday that it will no longer admit Covid-19 patients and those who are exhibiting symptoms of the disease.

But the hospital emphasized that it can still cater to non-Covid cases while its ancillary services at the Medical Arts Building remain open to serve their clients.

Earlier, the hospital released an advisory informing the public that it is limiting certain types of patients’ admission due to lack of medical personnel.

While they had the facility and equipment to accommodate patients, the RMC lamented that it lacked manpower to take care of the patients.

Covid-19 asymptomatic patients may still be accommodated if they opt to enroll with the hospital’s Home Care Service, it said.

The hospital management is asking the public’s cooperation and understanding in these “trying times” and assured that they will issue another advisory once the situation gets better.

The Bacolod Adventist Medical Center (BAMC), also in an advisory, announced that its Covid-19 wards, holding rooms and Isolation ER are operating at their full capacity with 43 patients on the waiting list.

“Taking this into account, it is BAMC’s responsibility to uphold and maintain the delivery of safe and proper medical care to our patients while considering the availability of manpower and resources,” the hospital said.

It added that “we would like to remind the public and our potential patients to seek coordinated referral by contacting our Admitting Section hotline number at 09176395583 or 488-7777 before rushing to the hospital.”

Meanwhile, Bago City Hospital chief Dr. Jesus Rey Pacilan announced that it is already back to its normal operations effective Tuesday, September 14.

The hospital’s operation was temporarily halted Sunday, September 12, after it reached maximum capacity.
