THE number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered for first and second dose in Central Visayas has reached 87.5 percent and 72.8 percent, respectively, said Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, Visayas Covid-19 Vaccination Operations Center (VVOC) spokesperson.

As of September 1, Central Visayas already received a total of 2,962,000 doses of mixed brands of Covid-19 vaccines.

Loreche said the region also received 200 doses of Gamaleya's Sputnik V on September 13 and they will be released to Cebu City for the second dose of those who were given the component 1 of Sputnik V vaccine.

A total of 108,080 fresh doses of Sinovac vaccine also arrived on September 13. Of these, Metro Cebu got 61,800 doses.

Of the 61,800 doses for Metro Cebu, 46,000 doses were allocated to Cebu City, 4,800 for Mandaue City, 6,000 for Talisay City, 1,000 for Cordova, and 4,000 for Mitsumi.

These doses will be used for both first and second doses, Loreche said.

The rest or the 46,280 doses will go to the various vaccination sites in Cebu Province, she added. (WBS)
