Gikonsiderar ni Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia nga "most worthy opponent" si kanhi Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano.
Kini maoy pamahayag sa gobernador subay sa posibleng makaatbang niya nga magpapili isip gobernador sa Probinsya sa Sugbo.
"Well eversince I first run in 2004, I always consider him or her a most worthy opponent kay dili lalim kay modagan ka for the gubernatorial position, dako kaayo na nga trabaho. Molibot ka sa tibuok probinsya. I think it's a great sacrifice actually. If former Secretary Ace Durano would decide to run for governor, then I will be most honored to face him becuase he is a most worthy opponent," matod ni Garcia sa Septiyembre 16.

"I will just say one thing. it's either he said that because he does not know any better. And that can be excused kay kutob ra man sila fifth district. "Dili lang ko mo-comment ana. But this I can say with Vice Governor Davide in the past two years, he has shown decency inspite of the fact that we are in opposing camps. And prior to our serving together now as governor and vice governor, we were bitter rivals. But in the past years under this term, Vice Governor Davide has shown full support for all of our programs. And i thank him for that, including all the provincial board members,"matod ni Garcia.
Wala pa man ang final nga listahan sa mga kandidato, sanglit sa Oktubre pa ang filing sa Cerrificate of Candidacy (COC) apan kompyansa si Garcia nga adunay labing huna-huna ug nahibaw ang mga Sugboanon kon kinsa ang angay nga pilion sa sunod eleksyon.
