After initially planning to have a second conference later this year, the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) has pulled that plan back, with organizers opting to let the players rest.

PVL commissioner Tonyboy Liao revealed that representatives of the 11 teams met and decided to postpone the staging of the second conference, which was slated for the last quarter of this year. Liao added that the teams were unanimous in their decision.

The PVL successfully staged the Open Conference in July and finished in August with Chery Tiggo emerging as champions after they toppled the heavily favored Creamline.

With this development, Liao shared that they would have the next season next year and this will have two conferences: the Open Conference and another that will have imports.

Aside from Chery Tiggo and Creamline, the rest of the PVL teams include Petro Gazz, Choco Mucho, Sta. Lucia, PLDT, Black Mamba-Army, BaliPure, Perlas Spikers, Cignal and F2 Logistics, which decided to not play in the Open Conference, owing to injuries suffered by many of their players. (JNP)
