THE Davao City Government will be conducting a walk-in vaccination to selected target sectors on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at People's Park, as part of its effort to vaccinate more Dabawenyos.

The City Government, in an advisory, said that it will conduct a walk-in vaccination from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Targeted individuals in the walk-in vaccination are 18 years old and above. These include housemaids, vendors, laborers, government employees, service delivery drivers, senior citizens, unvaccinated sectoral group members. They can also bring their fellow household members.

Also included are public utility vehicle drivers (tricycle, habal habal, taxi, and jeepney drivers), teachers, construction workers, ambulant vendors and others who want to be vaccinated.

Individuals who have missed their second dose or are overdue in receiving the second dose of Sinovac are also welcome to walk in.

Davao City Covid-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said in a radio interview on Friday, September 17, that they are targeting 1,000 vaccinees.

"Target nato na siya kay labi na gyud katong nakahuna-huna kay nagahatag man ta sa sectoral, pero naay uban kahit na-serve na ang ilang sector, murag siguro apprehensive sila at that time, karon nila naisipan magpabakuna, pwede sila didto," Schlosser said in an interview on 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio.

(We are targeting those who just decided to have themselves vaccinated, especially those who missed the sectoral vaccination. Maybe they just decided to be vaccinated only now because they might have been apprehensive at that time. They will be catered there.)

The official reminded vaccinees to bring their ballpen, SafeDavao QR (DQR) Code, and valid identification card.

"I hope nga i-take nato nga opportunity kay naa tay ubay-ubay nga tao nga in doubt pa sa atong bakuna," Schlosser said.

(I hope that you will take this opportunity to get vaccinated because we still observe that some people remain doubtful about the efficacy of the vaccine.)

This is an addition to the sectoral vaccination that will be conducted over the weekend.

Around 1,000 members of the lesbian, gays bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, including one family member, are targeted to be vaccinated on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor Commissioner and Work for Davao program manager Norman Baloro said in a radio interview on Thursday, September 16, that the vaccination rollout will run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Baloro said the event is spearheaded by the LGBT Davao City Coalition, which has 90 accredited LGBT organizations.

He said this is part of Davao City's massive vaccination drive against Covid-19 to reach 1.2 million vaccinated Dabawenyos by November.

Baloro said the vaccination rollout is open to all LGBT members in the city regardless if they are members of any coalition or not, but he said they need to register for the vaccination.

A pre-registration will be conducted for those who will avail of the vaccination and need to fill out this form available on https://forms.gle/Z7tbK48qZtvgHCbbA.

Baloro said those who are interested may contact Reggie Ningning, the lead convenor of LGBT Davao City, through his mobile number 09388649209.

Davao City is targeting to inoculate an estimated 1.2 million individuals.
