Over 23,000 added to Covid-19 case count

MORE than 23,000 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases were reported by the Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday, September 18, 2021, along with over 200 deaths for the fifth consecutive day.

Based on the September 18 case bulletin, the DOH said there are 23,134 new cases, 255 additional deaths and 27,024 new recoveries.

The positivity rate stood at 26 percent of the 73,635 tested on September 16 nationwide.

There are now 2,347,550 Covid-19 cases nationwide.

The additional deaths raised the death toll to 36,583. The case fatality rate remained at 1.56 percent.

The total number of recoveries went up to 2,126,879.

There remained 184,088 active Covid-19 cases in the country, of which 0.6 percent were critical, 1.3 percent were severe, 2.5 percent were moderate, 90.5 percent were mild and 5.0 percent were asymptomatic. (HDT / SunStar Philippines)
