DILG helps Pampanga government units in Devolution Transition Plans

THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is helping Pampanga local government units (LGUs) in drafting their respective Devolution Transition Plans (DTPs).

Over the weekend, the DILG convened representatives and members of the Devolution Transition Committee and Technical Working Group members of the different cities and municipalities in the province to provide them with in-depth knowledge and information on the development of DTPs.

According to DILG Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, the DTP will guide LGUs in performing their tasks in line with the increase in the National Tax Allotment and implementation of devolved functions and services from various government agencies starting 2022.

“The department [DILG] will continue to watch over and support the LGUs including providing technical assistance to make the transition of local governments to full devolution a success,” Fabia said.

She also reminded the LGUs to ensure the proper prioritization of programs, projects and activities depending on the situation and needs of their locality.

The DILG will also conduct a series of coaching sessions to oversee the formulation of DTPs and suggest necessary adjustments to the plans.
