FIFTY percent of the eligible population of Mandaue City is now fully vaccinated with two doses of a vaccine against Covid-19.

In a Facebook post Sunday, the Mandaue City Public Information Office announced that Mandaue City had become the first local government unit in Metro Cebu to inoculate 50 percent of its eligible population with two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.

The Visayas Vaccination Operations Center (VVOC) reported that as of September 17, 2021, Mandaue City had administered 327,345 doses of vaccines, of which 173,334 doses were for the first dose and 154,011 doses were for the second dose.

Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, in his statement, thanked the residents and workers of the city for supporting the Covid-19 vaccination program.

He urged those who had yet to get vaccinated to go to the vaccination sites.

“This is our main protection against Covid-19,” said Cortes.

Mandaue City has five vaccination sites: Mandaue City Cultural Sports Complex, University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu- Mandaue (UCLM) branch, Pacific Mall, Parkmall and J Center Mall.

They operate from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Also, every Friday night, Mandaue City opens its night vaccination from 4 to 9 p.m., and every weekend, the mobile vaccination clinic operates at the barangays.

Meanwhile, the VVOC reported that Cebu City had administered a total of 570,372 doses of Covid-19 vaccines of which 325,905 were for the first dose and 244,467 doses for the second dose. This means 35.91 percent of its eligible population is fully vaccinated.

Lapu-Lapu City administered 304,674 doses, of which 167,480 doses were for the first dose and 137,194 were for the second dose, translating to 39.63 percent of its eligible population fully vaccinated.
