534 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Pampanga

THE Department of Health (DOH) recorded some 534 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infections in Pampanga, including Angeles City, on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in one the highest single-day increase in the province since the start of the pandemic.

This brought the total confirmed cases in Pampanga to 59,077, according to the DOH’s official coronavirus tracker. Total active cases in the province were at 4,700 cases, while the number of recoveries was at 52,890.

Some 1,487 people have died of the virus since the start of the pandemic, according to the DOH Tracker report.

In the last 14 days, some 4,422 new cases have been recorded in Pampanga alone.

Pampanga, which has the second-highest case incidence and deaths in Central Luzon, also reported some 65 deaths from the virus in the last 14 days.

Of the 47 health facilities in Pampanga, only 294 of the 1,475 beds were available. The province’s bed occupancy rate was at 80 percent. This meant that the bed occupancy rate in some 22 facilities in the province was at a critical level, while eight were at a high risk of no longer being able to accommodate more patients.
