New Kapamilya Lovi Poe would love to be female ‘Panday’

After doing dramatic and offbeat roles in GMA Network for 15 years, new ABS-CBN star Lovi wants to do action roles for a change.

The recent “Kapamilya” singled out the female version of “Panday,” one which her late father, action king Fernando Poe Jr. popularized.

She wants Coco Martin and Jericho Rosales, who had portrayed the role, to be in the cast. She also wants to be in a rom-com project, adding she wants to feel light upon leaving the set.

She mentioned Coco, Gerald Anderson, Joem Bascon and Zanjoe Marudo, to name a few, among actors she wants to work with.

Lovi will be starting an adaptation of Korean drama series “Flower of Evil” with Piolo Pascual when she comes back to the country after participating in a Hollywood movie, “The Chelsea Cowboy.” Piolo reportedly signed another contract with the Kapamilya network a day ahead of Lovi.

The Kapamilya actresses Lovi wants to work with include Anne Curtis, Kim Chiu, Liza Soberano and Janine Gutierrez, among others.

Lovi admitted feeling butterflies in her stomach upon arriving at the ABS-CBN compound, but the warmth of the Kapamilya people, specifically Cory Vidanes and Deo Endrinal, calmed her nerves.

Cory, Deo and ABS-CBN big boss Carlo Katigbak were instrumental in Lovi’s decision to transfer to the network. Lovi narrated that she arrived at the decision upon waking up in Los Angeles and watching the rising sun, which she likened to a new beginning.
