A former village watchman was killed, while his nine-year-old grandson was injured after an unidentified assailant ransacked their house at Abada Escay in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City early morning yesterday, September 21.

Police Captain Elmer Bonilla, chief of Police Station 7, identified the fatality as Aurelio Rull, 79.

Bonilla said Rull succumbed to multiple stab wounds and was found lying on the bed.

The boy who sustained injuries on the head was brought to undisclosed hospital, he said.

Investigation showed that the suspect entered Rull’s house at about 4 a.m.and attacked him and his grandson with a bladed weapon.

The police is still trying to establish the motive behind the stabbing.

Bonilla said they have already a person of interest on the incident and the follow-up operation is still on-going to arrest the suspect.

He said they are also validating the information that Rull allegedly involved in illegal drug activities in the city. (MAP)
