New Covid cases in Oro continues to decline, now at 29

NEW recorded Covid cases in Cagayan de Oro continue to lessen as the City Health Office reported 29 new coronavirus infections, one of whom was a returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF) and 28 were local transmissions.

This brought the cumulative number of Covid-19 infections in the city to 19,128.

Of the 28 new local cases, 13 were local index cases, nine were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, four local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), one Apor with link, and one mortality.

"Happy kay ko ani nga maayo nga numbers. Congratulations sa katawhan sa dakbayan sa Cagayan de Oro," City Mayor Oscar Moreno said.

"Yes, we can do it and let's continue doing it para we will decisively overcome the virus," he added.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 3,761 active cases, 886 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 2,859 were outpatients, and 16 ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 108 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 14,549.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city reached 818.

Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinated individuals who tested positive for coronavirus in Cagayan de Oro is now at 4,566.

Of the 4,566 vaccinees, 2,840 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine; 860 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca; 303 with Pfizer; 272 with Sputnik V; 269 with Janssen; six with Sinopharm; and 16 with Moderna.
