"DO NOT be afraid to seek help. Do not hide if you are infected. Go to our district hospitals so that you cannot infect your relatives."

So said Vice Governor Lilia Pineda on the Department of Health (DOH) giving all 10 district hospitals across Pampanga the green light to admit Covid-19 cases and treat patients with mild and moderate symptoms.

In an announcement aired over the Provincial Information Office's Facebook page on September 21, 2021, the vice governor, together with DOH-Central Luzon Director Corazon Flores, urged Kapampangans infected with the coronavirus to seek immediate assistance from health workers posted in the provincial government-run hospitals located in Pampanga's four districts.

The district hospitals were previously not allowed to admit Covid-19 cases.

The central facility that admits Covid-19 patients and handles mild and moderate cases is the Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Provincial Hospital.

Severe and critical cases are referred to the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital in the City of San Fernando, which earlier disclosed that it had reached full capacity and would no longer admit patients with Covid-19.

For her part, Flores appealed for strict observance of health protocols to curb the rate of infection. (JTD)
